The Healing Power of Nature
Our surroundings have a significant effect on our chakras. Staying indoors for too long can negatively affect them and our health. Conversely, being outdoors in nature can have a positive effect and is an easy way to receive chakra therapy.
For instance, root chakra issues typically manifest as back and joint pain. If you have this, go outside, take your shoes off, and allow your feet to sink deep into the ground for a few minutes. Or sit with your spine lined up against the bark of a tree. When we make physical contact with the earth, we receive a charge of energy that makes us feel much better.
In general, exercising outside has a very grounding and healing effect on your root chakra and physical body.
In case you are faced with a cold climate or don’t have the time to get out much, earth mats are available and are very easy to use. You just plug them into an electrical outlet that connects with the ground rod of your home. You can keep them under your feet while working at a desk or under your sheets while sleeping. People who have used these mats have reported a reduction in inflammation/pain, less anxiety and better sleep.
Nature can also soothe those suffering from grief, depression, sadness and emotional heartbreak. The predominant colour of nature is green, which is also the colour of your heart chakra. Just walking through nature and seeing all the green around you is a form of colour therapy for your heart.
A walk in nature can also expand your immediate awareness. In doing so, it gives your mind a chance to lay its chatter to rest, which can boost your productivity and inspiration afterwards. In this regard, nature is able to clear your crown chakra and third-eye chakra.
So make sure that you spend some time in your backyard or local park – it’s a simple and cost-effective way to keep your chakras healthy! 🙂
